Another month in navy. Last week, I just bid farewell to my 3 friends who are going to CNB for OJT already. Wow... that's fast. I still have a few weeks to go. We took some photos, but I'm not going to put them online. Sorry. :(


Last Saturday, my family celebrated my dad's birthday. We went to The Bridge at Singapore Yacht Club around West Coast for buffet dinner. Hmmm...
What should I say? The dinner was really disappointing. There was poor variety of food to choose from. Yet the buffet costs $30 excluding drinks! What? Did I see wrongly? This is the first time I have seen a buffet that does not provide free drink. Adding a drink costs from $4.50 (for mock-tail) (no free flow!) to $8.50 (for alc drink) and other more expensive wines. I ordered fruit punch and took a sip every time, so that I wont finish the drink before desert. The food itself is so-so only. (Dont expect any oyster on the plate!) The whole place was dark. I could hardly take any photos of myself. And then a cockroach visited our table to say hi! before making its way to the ang moh's table beside us. Nonetheless, I have to give one point for the good service.

I rather go to fort canning or changi village for buffet now.

Today, after the MPA exhibition in vivocity. Amos and me waited for Desmond chew to book out and come vivo. Yea, it has been quite some time we didnt meet each other. At 1700, Desmond finally arrived. Yeap, he updated us information on our BMT mates. hehe... Quite interesting. We went to Marche to have dinner. All of us ordered Roesti with chicken sausage. The meal was fabulous! It's my first time tasting Roesti. Then, we went to GV to watch movie. We had a great time together. I'm not sure if we have the time to meet anymore, especially during our OJT.

I'm back from camp. Today's post will be very long, but dont worry, i will add some photos on the way.

An article from the newspaper today that a motorist was hit by a lorry, and died. Actually, I did not really read the article. But, guess what? he was from my camp, and it's a big news in my camp now. I dont know him, and I have nothing to comment. However, what I need to do, is to attend his funeral on sunday.

Next, today's movie in cinema was horrible. For the first 30 mins, messages kept on coming from my handphone during the movie. I had to reply and reply messages non-stop. But a message from Jia Qi stunned me.
She told me she "had news about Raihan".
...
Yea, first thing that came to my mind is that it is negative.
Really, negative. According to Jia Qi, Raihan passed away yesterday from cancer.

Raihan was my CCA-mates in Junyuan Secondary School. After leaving the PA group, I went over to Media Club Production. My team consisted of Willy, Eugene, Jia Qi, Mei Hui and Raihan too. I took over the team as chairman when I was sec 3. Raihan was sec 2 then. Though he was new to IT, he was patience to learn IT stuffs from me. He could do flash animation, dreamweaver and coding in no time. Most importantly, his willingness to learn from me, motivated me to teach him more. He didnt put what I've taught him to a waste. Instead, he contributed to the team by joining several competitions. As a team, we worked together very well. I dont know if the team can do without him. As a ex-chairman and a friend, I really thank him for helping his friends and me.

Another week has passed.

First, i need to congrats myself for buying a psp go! camera. Hurray... Though the image quality isnt that fantastic, it's fun to use. And... it's so portable! I will post the photos i took using the camera soon. But now...

i'm busying listening to the latest albums.

Tried listening to the latest album : 魔杰座. It's... not very nice compared to his previous releases.

Next, i need to announce my iq is still remained at 130+. Good news, i didnt become stupid in navy. Bad news, i havent improve for quite some time. Sudoku, obviously, doesn't help much. Hehe...

PHP
Time for me to upgrade my skills. I've been learning how to put xml + rss into php. And... tada, i finally did it. The "now on itunes" and "Top artists" sections are my newest worksdiscoveries. They are very basics i think. So there's nothing to cheer about. But there's a bit of obstruction: blogspot is not powered by php. So, i cant use include page. What I can do : Use javascript and iframe instead. So of cuz there's a bit of limitations e.g. slow loading , difficulties in using mootools, though it can be done, etc.

Cough
Actually i intended to go orchard to buy psp 300, a psp camera. Though, it's 1.3 MP, it's SO cool. I did a bit of research, by searching photos taken from psp-300 in flickr. It actually looks great. I dont think i need a too-good camera for now. Unfortunately, I fall sick again. Abit of sore throat; and sleepy too.

Harbour Practical
These few weeks, i'll be doing my harbour practical. It's kinda boring; as in i didnt expect it can be so boring. I thought practical lessons are more interactive than theory lessons. In this case, it's not. After that, it will be OJT. Then after OJT, i will be looking forward to ORD.

The long trip to tuas can be frustrating. It needs some planning so as not to come late for harbour practical. When going home, it's the long MRT rides that matter. Then, I have to give seats to people from lakeside to tampines since i'm wearing uniform. If i dont, i think a video of me will appear in youtube titled "A Navy guy sleeping in MRT drooling". (Idea by Amos Chow)

Bowling
Thursday was cohesion day for NDTC. We went to East Coast for bowling. WTH. I actually can bowl! Then my bloody team-mate wanted me to get HIGH scores, otherwise he will "kill you". Yar lar, he pro in bowling mar, so what??!! I wanted to tell him to play all the games himself. Luckily JJ calmed me down. And... funniest thing... I lost my balance fell down when bowling. OMG. I broke the record. i heard someone laughing. And i turned around and give him a stern look.
